The meeting of the
company management with the representatives of labor collectives was held both
in the format of direct communication and remotely via videoconference. Eduard Ogay, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhmys
Holding LLP and the Chairman of the Board of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP
introduced the new managers of the corporation: the First Deputy Chairman of
the Board A.P. Gaydin and the Deputy Chairmen of the Board A.N. Barmenkulov and M.V.
Krasyuk. Andrey Pavlovich supervises
the production and technical development of the corporation, the issues of
health and safety, as well as compliance of the social and living conditions
for employees at the company production facilities with modern requirements. The field of activity of Adilet
Nazarbayevich includes the issues of regional and social development, relations
with public authorities, work with the Government, and other issues of internal
and external policy of the corporation. Marina Vladimirovna deals with the issues of prospective
development and re-equipment of concentrating production. Based on the results
of the speeches of the Corporation managers and the answers to the questions of
the meeting participants, the main areas of the company activities for the
future were covered, and a number of important decisions were announced. So, according to the strategic
plan of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP for a period up to 2040, it is planned to
develop and create new production facilities with the prospect of increasing
ore production. For example, for the Zhomart mine, it is planned to build and
put into operation a new concentrating mill with a capacity of 4 mln tons of
ore per year by 2025. It is planned to
modernize the crushing unit of the Nurkazgan concentrating mill with achieving
the volume of processing of 4 mln tons of ore in 2022. From 2027, the mill capacity
will constitute 6,5 mln tons of ore per year. By 2027, all capital
works for the Kusmurun-Akbastau mine will be completed. The volume of ore
produced by the underground method will constitute 1,7 mln tons. It is planned to put into
operation the new Zhaisan mine with a production volume of 600 thousand of ore
per year and process the from the Shatyrkul and Zhaisan deposits at the new Shatyrkul-Zhaisan
concentrating mill with commissioning in 2024; the planned capacity is 1,0 mln
tons per year with the possibility of expansion to 1,5 mln tons of ore per year. The programme for the development
of Kazakhmys production is developed for 20 years. The construction of new
facilities and the modernization of existing ones will make it possible to
replenish ore production during this period by 6 906 thousand tons of ore
with an average copper content of 1,08%. Besides, it is planned
to renovate administration and amenity buildings and facilities and create the
necessary living conditions for the rotational workers. It was also reported at
the meeting that since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Kazakhmys has
held a number of events both within the company and for the residents of the cities
in the operations area for a total amount of about 17 bln tenges. In particular, over 10
bln tenges were spent for support of the Kazakhmys employees and the measures
for protection and disinfection at all production facilities. To support health care
during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kazakhmys has allocated about 7 bln tenges to the
republican fund Birgemyz and for the cities of Zhezkazgan, Satpayev, and
Balkhash. In connection with the
threat of a new wave of the spread of coronavirus infection and acute
respiratory viral infections, the company employees are vaccinated against known
strains of influenza. As of today, over 10 thousand workers have been
vaccinated. Vaccination is free and voluntary. The company makes
annual decisions on wage growth. For example, in 2020, the wage increase was carried
out differentially depending on the type of activity, while the minimum wage in
the company increased from 100 000 to 140 000 tenges. For 8 months of this year,
the average wage in the company increased by 14.1%. At the meeting, the
management announced a decision to re-pay all employees of the companies 100
000 tenges as support during the period of a possible pandemic wave. The payments
will also be made in the outsourcing companies. Besides, the questions
of paying bonuses to the Kazakhmys employees at the yearend and increasing wages
for all categories of workers were raised. The exact amount of the increase and
the timing of payments will be announced after the necessary monitoring and
analysis of the situation. Upon completion of the
meeting, each employee could ask the Kazakhmys management about the issues of
interest. The meeting of the top
managers of the Kazakhmys corporation with the representatives of the labor
collectives finished on a positive note. The employees noted the contribution
of the company to the social and economic development of the regions and the
support of the population during the pandemic
