Members of the Mazhilis visit Kazakhmys production facilities

Deputies of the Mazhilis, Kudaibergen Beksultanov and Baurzhan Smagulov, paid a working visit to the Nurkazgan Mining Operations of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP. Accompanied by General Director Mukan Ungitbayev and Governor of the Bukhar-Zhyrau District Erlan Kusain, the parliamentarians toured the processing plant and key areas of the mine.

During the visit, the deputies inspected the production workshops, reviewed the ore processing stages and familiarized themselves with the implementation of advanced technological solutions. Particular attention was given to industrial safety and working conditions. The parliamentarians also met with employees to discuss current issues of concern to the workforce.

Today, the mine is predominantly staffed by young professionals, with an average employee age of 30–35 years. A distinctive feature of the site is the direct delivery of ore to the processing plant. The annual output has reached 4.2 million tonnes, with plans to increase production to 4.5 million tonnes in the coming years.

The mine has introduced personnel tracking systems and emergency alert mechanisms, which have significantly enhanced safety standards.

Since 2017, the plant has undergone large-scale modernization of its crushing, grinding, screening, and flotation processes, with total investments exceeding USD 46 mln. The third phase of modernization, budgeted at approximately USD 12 mln, is scheduled for completion by 2027.

The deputies were also briefed on the company’s social policy achievements. In 2025, Kazakhmys allocated over KZT 12.4 bln for social programs covering a wide range of areas, including housing support, voluntary medical insurance, health and recreation initiatives and the 2025–2029 Collective Agreement aimed at improving employee welfare and workplace culture.
