Kazakhmys Group deeply regrets to announce that a workplace accident occurred on March 19, 2025, at the East-Zhezkazgan mine in Ulytau region.

At Shaft No. 57, during the unloading of material assets, a worker born in 1994 fell into an opening on the cargo shaft platform. Tragically, the injuries sustained proved fatal and the worker passed away at the scene.

The circumstances and causes of the incident are currently under investigation. A special commission has been established to conduct a thorough inquiry.

The management and staff of Kazakhmys express their sincere and deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. The company will provide the family with all necessary assistance and compensation in accordance with the collective agreement, including coverage of funeral expenses.
