Kazakhmys Corporation supported the annual national campaign «Mektepke Zhol» («Road to School»), helping children and their parents across its regions of operation prepare for the new academic year.

This year, the company allocated over KZT 21 mln to provide school supplies for over 700 children in Ulytau, Karaganda, Zhambyl and Abai regions. Each gift set included essential school items, stationery, sportswear and equipment.

Special attention was given to children from low-income and large families.

«We understand how important it is for every child to start the school year with confidence. For us, this is not just a charitable initiative but a way to show care for the communities where Kazakhmys operates,» the company highlighted.

Caring for employees and their families is an integral part of the Group’s social policy. Within the «Road to School» project, 28 employees of Kazakhmys Barlau LLP and QazaqGeophysics LLP whose children entered first grade received a one-time payment of 30,000 tenge each. Additionally, one employee was granted targeted social assistance equivalent to 15 Monthly Calculation Index (MCI).

Employees of Kazakhmys Energy also joined the initiative. A festive event was held at the Topar State District Power Plant, where children were congratulated on the start of the school year, treated to a celebratory table and given new backpacks filled with school supplies.

Such initiatives have become a long-standing and heartwarming tradition for the company. Kazakhmys consistently supports education and strives to create equal opportunities for schoolchildren across its regions.
