Mr. Yesmakhanov was born in 1973 in Aktobe. He holds degrees in law and engineering, an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School (UK) and a NEBOSH diploma in occupational safety and health.

He began his professional career in 1995 at Yuzhneftegaz Oil and Gas Production Unit, working on the Kumkol project (now PetroKazakhstan). For over ten years, he held senior positions in industrial and environmental safety at Tengizchevroil.

From 2009, Mr. Esmakhanov worked in Ukraine, overseeing occupational health and environmental protection at AES-Ukraine and TNK-BP.

Between 2013 and 2020, he served as a consultant for DuPont Sustainable Solutions and an auditor of international ISO standards at SGS.

From 2020 to 2025, he was Deputy General Director for Occupational Health and Industrial Safety at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Public Joint Stock Company (Ukraine).

Mr. Yesmakhanov brings with him over 30 years of professional experience in occupational health, industrial safety and environmental protection.
