The parties reiterated their interest in developing cooperation in innovative activities. KIGAM presented some of their innovative technologies, particularly concerning separation of arsenic from copper, and parties discussed their implementation. Another delegation headed by Sayat Bakirov, Technical Director of Kazakhmys Corporation LLC, visited the Russian Federation. The delegation participated in “Miner’s Week” XX VII International Scientific Symposium annually held by MISiS National University of Science and Technology (formerly known as Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys State Technological University). In Yekaterinburgh, the delegation visited Ural Federal University named after Boris Yeltsin, a leading university of the Ural region. The aim of the visit was to familiarize with technical capabilities of the institutes and to discuss the directions of mutually beneficial partnership within the frameworks of R&IID International Innovation and Production Consortium (IIPC) in science and education. Particularly, the parties discussed the process audit conducted by R&IID International Innovation and Production Consortium at Kazakhmys Corporation LLC enterprises. The action plan will be developed further based on the audit results.
