Ensuring the accessibility of distance education

Today, on the eve of the beginning of the school year, in three cities of the Karaganda region – Zhezkazgan, Satpayev and Balkhash - a ceremony of gratuitous transfer of 922 laptops from the Kazakhmys Group of companies to city educational institutions was held. The total amount of the charity event was about 190 million tenge.  Laptops are designed to make distance education accessible to children from socially vulnerable families and partly for teachers who did not have computers, in order to improve the quality of education, and who were selected on the recommendation of territorial education departments. In addition, routers for high-speed Internet access were purchased for 201 families that need support. This charity event is aimed at promoting the continuity of education in the coming academic year, reducing digital inequality and ensuring full access to quality education for children. In General, more than 37 thousand schoolchildren are entering the new school year in three cities, of which 5429 children have a need for computers.  Organizational equipment is purchased at the expense of the national and local budgets, as well as with the involvement of sponsorship funds, a share of which was taken by Kazakhmys.
