Kazakhmys Corporation has completed a major renovation of the «Akbota» nursery and kindergarten in the city of Satpayev. This project is part of the company’s extensive corporate social responsibility program, implemented under a memorandum of cooperation with the Governor's Office of Ulytau region. The total cost of the project amounted to KZT 967 mln.

One of the primary requests from local authorities was to address the long waiting lists for preschool institutions. The reopening of the kindergarten has helped reduce the queue and created comfortable conditions for the education and care of 320 children.

As part of the renovation, the kindergarten has been fully modernized and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The roof, façade and engineering systems were refurbished and heated floors were installed in the playrooms. To ensure child safety, video surveillance and a fire alarm system were also installed.

Special attention has been given to the comprehensive development of the children. The facility now includes Montessori classrooms, a salt therapy room for health enhancement, a music room and creative activity zones. The outdoor areas have been upgraded with new playgrounds, landscaped greenery and freshly paved asphalt.

Chairman of the Board of Kazakhmys Corporation Nurakhmet Nuriev noted that this project marks the beginning of a series of new social initiatives by the company. Eight more major projects in the region are scheduled for completion in the near future.

The Governor of Satpayev Murat Buribaev emphasized that creating conditions for nurturing children is key to shaping a worthy future generation.
