Non-stop modernization of the Zhezkazgan concentrating mill No. 1
18.10.2020
The service life of the applied equipment
is from 50 to 57 years. The following factors have a significant impact on
the efficiency of flotation equipment: As a result of the mentioned reasons,
there was a decrease in the degree of extraction and losses of valuable components
in the final tailings of production, as well as frequent emergency downtimes of
old flotation equipment. In May 2018, the head of the DSROP Tatyana Oleynikova initiated
the project “Modernization of slime flotation of the Main Building-1 of the
Zhezkazgan concentrating mill No. 1.” After the preparation of the design
specifications and estimates and passing the state examination of detailed
design in February 2019, construction and installation works were started with the
complete demolition of old foundations and columns and the erection of new ones.
Instead of 112 mechanical multi-compartment cells (volume 6,3m³) Mekhanobr-7,
28 pneumatic mechanical multi-compartment cells (volume 25m³) MEK-25 (Russia)
were installed that are equipped with automated pulp level and airflow rate control
systems. The project also provides for the installation of the powerful air
blowers for supplying process air KUBÍČEK (Czech Republic) and the Atlas-Copco
compressor (Sweden) for
instrumentation, control and automation equipment. According to the project manager Aydin Espayev, due to the well-coordinated
work of the project participants, they managed to achieve the early launch of
the equipment a month earlier than the approved date and save about 20% of the investment
money allocated for the project. At the stage of commissioning works,
the staff was trained in the operation of the newly installed equipment, which
had a positive impact on the overall qualification of the mill staff. According to the preliminary
calculations, the successfully implemented project will ensure: In turn, it will provide a significant
economic effect and return on investment within a short time.
