Kazakhmys will extend all necessary assistance to the families of the workers who lost their lives at the Zhomart mine, in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

As part of its commitment to social and financial support, and to compensate for moral harm, each family will receive a payment equivalent to ten times the employee’s average annual salary, as well as over KZT 2 mln to cover funeral expenses.

In addition, the support package includes monthly survivor’s benefits, tuition coverage for the children of the deceased, repayment of outstanding loans and debts as well as other forms of assistance upon request from family members.

The management and staff of Kazakhmys express their deepest and most sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished.
