Kazakhmys and Freedom Cloud launch cloud migration to advance AI and digitalization in production

Kazakhmys Corporation and the Kazakh IT company Freedom Cloud have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of digital technologies. The joint initiative focuses on modernizing the company’s IT infrastructure, implementing cloud solutions and developing artificial intelligence (AI) applications in production processes.

Cloud migration will consolidate all computational and network resources into a single digital ecosystem, ensuring data security and uninterrupted operation of critical systems.

«Today, the market and technology have reached a level where we can gradually outsource non-core functions to professional providers while maintaining reliability, cybersecurity and full control over key processes. We view this step not as a one-off project but as a long-term partnership built on mutual trust. It will enhance the resilience and efficiency of our systems and open new opportunities for developing digital services. For both companies, this is a measured decision and the start of significant constructive progress», - said Nurakhmet Nuriyev, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.

From January to June 2026, a pilot project will be implemented, during which Kazakhmys will test the cloud infrastructure and new digital services.

The pilot project will enable:

· Accelerated data processing and increased stability of corporate systems;

· Implementation of AI and predictive analytics for equipment monitoring and downtime prevention;

· Access to digital services from any network location, from the office to the mine;

· Simplification of employee workflows through automation and reduced manual operations.

Freedom Cloud will provide Tier III infrastructure with backup, cybersecurity and 24/7 monitoring. Based on this platform, AI-driven process management and DevOps technologies will be tested to accelerate the deployment of new digital tools.

«When the country’s largest industrial companies invest in cloud technologies and AI, it signals a transition to a new level of digital maturity for the economy. We are creating infrastructure that will allow Kazakhmys not only to improve efficiency but also to set an example for the entire mining and metallurgical industry in applying AI and cloud solutions», - said Temirlan Zinalabdin, CEO of Freedom Cloud.

In the future, the parties plan to expand their cooperation by creating modular data centers (DCs) at industrial sites and implementing managed cloud services, which will help enhance production efficiency and improve the quality of internal digital services.
