The agreement on the development and implementation of the information-analytical system "Energy Management" at the facilities of the mining and processing complex and copper smelters of the Kazakhmys Corporation was signed by the Center for Energy Efficiency Expertise LLP (part of the international group GCE Group - "City Center of Expertise") in early June 2020. In accordance with the planned plan, the experts have already started the first pre-project stage of development. A significant help in the context of sanitary and epidemiological restrictive measures is the deep knowledge of the specifics of the energy systems of complexes and factories obtained in the course of audits previously conducted by experts. The large-scale project was preceded by pilot work on the implementation of the information-analytical system "Energy Management" at the Zhezkazgan smelter of Kazakhmys Smelting LLP (Kazakhmys Smelting). Based on the results of which the Holding's management decided on the feasibility of expanding the operational experience of the system and connecting other industrial facilities to it. In addition, before the end of this year, for the production sites Zhezkazgantsvetmet, Balkhashtsvetmet, as well as Zhezkazgan and Balkhash smelters and a copper rod plant, GCE specialists will develop a comprehensive setup of heating networks.
