Holding the labor protection Day is one of the elements of the labor protection management system in the structural divisions of Smelting, aimed at preventive work to ensure safe conditions and labor protection on the production site as a whole. In April 2020, Smelting held competitions on safety and labor protection on the following topics: "Safety through the eyes of children", "the Best workplace", "the Best stand for safety and labor protection" and " the Best proposal for improving safety and labor protection rules”. According to the results of the competitions, 236 prizes were determined - 164 prizes were won by workers, 72 engineering and technical workers. There were also awards for practitioners-experts and trainers-methodologists who took an active part in the program: "Reducing the level of injuries at work". The Commission of the competition "Safety through the eyes of children" awarded the works of Miras Askarov (11 years old), Aisultan Meirambek (6 years old), Zhiger Kanat (8 years old), Inkar Turlybekova (6 years old), Alina Hamidullina (12 years old) and Izbasar Tileu (12 years old). The parents of these young talents work in various structural divisions of the Balkhash and Zhezkazgan industrial sites of Kazakhmys Smelting LLP. Special attention was paid by organizers of the contest "the Best proposal for the improvement of industrial and occupational safety". The winner of this competition was the leading engineer - Madiyar Bimendinov. He developed the software - "monitoring the execution of Protocol decisions" in the module of the TOP 100 violators program for behavioral security audit.
