From a wireman to the chief power engineer

There are a lot of specialists at the Sayak mine of Balkhashtsvetmet PA of the Mining and processing complex of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP, who started their career from the vocational professions, having received education at the same time and having proven themselves from the best side, and move up the career ladder. In 1993, Andrei Zorin came to work in the Sayak-I pit of the Sayak mine as the 3rd grade wireman for the repair of equipment. During the year, showing his abilities and efforts, he was working and developing, gradually increasing the category of an underground wireman: from the third to the fourth, from the fourth to the fifth. While working at the mine, he studied extramurally at Balkhash Humanitarian and Technical College and received the diploma of a technician and electrician. During his work at the pit, Andrey Vladimirovich and his colleagues maintained the operating condition of the serviced devices, the correct operation of equipment throughout the Sayak-I pit, and soon Andrey Zorin was transferred to another site, the Tastau pit, as the acting chief power engineer. The personal qualities and work experience have not gone unnoticed: he was sent exactly to the places where it was necessary to fix something and take the work to a high level. As the saying goes, Andrey Vladimirovich walked through the length and breadth of the Sayak mine. He worked at all sections: power engineer of the mine surface maintenance section, electrician of Sayak-I mine, electrical engineer of Sayak-III mine, deputy chief power engineer of the mine, and in 2007, he was appointed the chief power engineer of the Sayak mine. For 13 years, he has been the head of this troubled but necessary service of the enterprise. Wherever Andrey Zorin works, he always ensures high quality of work, strictly monitors compliance with the industrial and occupational safety rules because any mistake in working with electricity can come at a high cost. Among other things, Andrey Zorin is also a mentor for young workers. Currently, his student colleagues work at the mine sections: Rinat Agylshanov, Abylay Tokenov, Nikolay Starichenkov, who cope masterly with the main task of production: uninterrupted supply of electricity to the whole enterprise. The mine's electrical facilities are very extensive: 17 substations, about 6 km of intra-pit lines, and about 8 km of intra-mine cable lines. Routine switching, moving of supports, and work with high-voltage equipment are performed by the employees of the mine power supply service. That’s why all employees of the service (over 80 persons) are high-level specialists with a large amount of special knowledge. “Each of our specialists is unique. The basis of the team is employees with a long record of service at the enterprise and a high level of professionalism. No major modernization of electrical equipment at the mine is possible without their participation!” “Variety of individuals”– that’s how the famous innovative teacher V.A. Sukhomlinsky called a team. They say that the power industry attracts strong and reliable people because they assume responsibility for a stable and reliable power supply every day. It is customary to wish the specialists of this industry stable and trouble-free work. We should wish all conscientious and brave, professional and purposeful power engineers of the Sayak mine, headed by Andrey Vladimirovich Zorin, the implementation of the new projects, high achievements, and inexhaustible energy! On the eve of the professional holiday, the Miner’s Day, the whole labor collective of the Sayak mine got the good news: Andrey Vladimirovich Zorin was nominated for the award of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, III class badge “Kenshi dańqy.”
