45th anniversary of the Zhezkazgan copper smelting plant!
18.02.2016
This is one of the largest industrial
enterprises of the region known for its production experience, highly qualified
team, and the developed infrastructure. The Zhezkazgan copper smelting plant consists
of the following main shops: Since the first electrolytic copper
was produced at the Zhezkazgan copper smelting plant in February 1971, a lot
has changed at the enterprise, in particular, the process equipment has been
modernized, but one thing remains unchanged – labor enthusiasm, professionalism,
and a close-knit team. In 2015, the plant began pilot
testing of an innovative technology for the processing of concentrates from low-grade
poor
copper-sulphide ores. The introduction of hydrometallurgy allowed to mine ores
with low copper content, as well as to replenish the raw material base and
extend the production activity of the Zhezkazgan site by more than 50 years. This year it is planned to start
construction of a pilot plant for hydrometallurgical processing of copper
concentrates. 31,67 mln dollars will be spent for the introduction of hydrometallurgy.
The term oа the implementation of this project – from February 2014 to March
2017.
