To ensure safe and efficient production on assets, Kazakhmys Holding starts a project to improve the coverage and quality of training, the development of professional competencies of employees.

First of all, the project will cover the competencies that allow preventing injuries and accidents at our enterprises.

Its main stages include: identification of critical operations for working professions and key processes in the field of industrial safety and labor protection; identification of the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities within these operations and processes; research of highly effective training courses for their development.

What has already been done:

15 critical working professions and 5 key processes have been identified.

Working groups operating at mining and processing, copper smelting and fuel and energy enterprises have compiled competence profiles for working professions, identified potentially dangerous operations, and described the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent risks.

Specialists of the Department for the Development of Industrial Safety and Labor Protection with the help of experts at enterprises updated standards for the risk management system, internal investigation of accidents, control and preventive work continues.

A list of more than 100 training courses has been compiled, most of which are planned to be developed and implemented by the end of 2021.

What needs to be done:

The courses are supposed to be carried out on electronic platforms, this will allow employees to receive education remotely, at a convenient time and in a convenient place; to have access to the best practices and knowledge, to receive them uniformly, regardless of the competencies and attitude of the teacher.

At the moment, work is underway on the selection of partner companies, the development of design and scenarios for future courses, the first test versions have been put into production.

In the future, it is planned to develop and consolidate the competence for the development of electronic courses within the corporation and to involve employees in the field to collect and consolidate the necessary information: documentation, photo and video materials, conducting interviews with the performers of the process, as well as other assistance in creating the course.

The task is serious: the training should be interesting, as close as possible to the specifics of the target audience's activities, understandable and, most importantly, useful in achieving the goals set.
